Pitches
Please email all pitches to admin@theassyrianjournal.com. Ideas for any section are welcome, though we ask that you familiarize yourself with our style before pitching a story. In your pitch, please include proposed word count and an estimate of when you could have your story completed. We accept both reported stories and op-ed pieces.

Op-Ed
The Journal welcomes well thought out, relevant op-ed pieces. Make sure your article has a clear angle. Who is your audience? What is the point you’re trying to convey by writing this piece? Keep these items in mind while composing the op-ed to produce an informative, newsworthy piece.

Although it is an opinion piece, it does need some evidence to back up your claims, so we encourage thorough research and citation of reputable sources. We will be fact-checking articles before their publication.

We do not publish anonymously written pieces. If your piece is co-written, the names of the individuals who contributed must be included. Their names, along with short bios, will appear in the byline of the article when it is published.

We ask that your piece does not exceed 1,000 words.

Regular Contributors
The Assyrian Journal is currently seeking regular content contributors to join our writing staff.
Contributors should have excellent writing and research skills and will produce one story per month.

When applying, please include a relevant résumé and two published writing samples that best demonstrate your writing and research skills. Any applications submitted without writing samples will not be considered. Send all relevant materials to admin@theassyrianjournal.com.

Compensation is $50 per article, contingent on meeting the deadline and other criteria.
